Originally from the Bay Area in California, Lauren moved to Houston in 2004 to attend Rice University. She began working in veterinary medicine as a receptionist in 2008 at a small animal and avian/exotic practice. Since 2009, she has been working in specialty medicine, which is where her real passion for veterinary medicine lies. Lauren joined the SLVS Internal Medicine team in 2010. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys camping, playing the cello, and spending time with her furry family, which includes her lab mixes, Jolie and Ranger, her cat, Shostie, and her chinchilla, Sethra.
Originally from Angleton, Janet joined the SLVS team in 2011. She received her AAS degree in Animal Science from the Veterinary Technician Institute of Houston in 10/2010, and became an RVT in 5/2011. During her short stint in general practice medicine, it became clear to her that her true calling was specialty medicine. At SLVS, she became an accomplished member of the Surgery Team, then transferred to Internal Medicine to obtain a well-rounded experience. Her household includes a small but feisty Miniature Schnauzer (Schotzy) and Tesla, a shy Lab mix.
Kristina has known all her life that she wanted to work in the veterinary field and started as a junior in high school. She worked at day practices as technician and a receptionist, and obtained her AAS at WCJC while working full time. She joined the SLVS team in 2013 as a Client Care Specialist, and moved to the Internal Medicine team in late 2013, where she is enjoying the relationships she is forming with patients and their owners.
At home, Kristina enjoys spending time with her husband and their 4-legged babies, which include 2 dogs and a Russian Tortoise – which were all rescues, as well as movies, bicycling, and backyard grilling.
Nancy has worked in the veterinary field for over 11 years, and obtained her RVT status from Lone Star College in 2004. She has lots of experience in general practice as well as emergency/critical care. Her main areas of interest include neonatal and geriatric care.
Nancy enjoys spending her free time with her 2-legged and 4-legged family members, and she loves all outdoor activities – especially camping and fishing.
Zoey graduated from Blinn College and obtained her LVT in 2014. She joined the SLVS team in 2015 after working for 2 years at Texas A&M in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit. She has a true passion for learning and making a difference in the critical care field. Outside of work she enjoys reading, writing, playing video games, and watching sci-fi and fantasy TV shows. She shares her home in Angleton, TX with her boyfriend Jason, and their 3 rescue dogs (Sheldon Cooper, Lei Lei, and Shade) and her rambunctious cat Artemis.
