Minnie was hit by a car on the evening of 7/19/14. She was taken to her family veterinarian immediately after the incident. Radiographs were taken and revealed pelvic fractures and a circular foreign body in the stomach. Minnie was given pain medications and transferred to SLVS emergency center later that night. Dr. Oakley initially evaluated her. An emergency procedure was recommended to remove the foreign object to decrease chances of obstruction. An endoscopic procedure was performed by Internal Medicine’s Dr. Heseltine to remove a gastric foreign body and a marble. Minnie recovered without any complications. She was then transferred to SLVS’s surgical section to repair all the fractures she had obtained. She underwent 3 surgical procedures by Dr. Bubenik to repair her multiple orthopedic injuries. Minnie has been doing well during her recovery at home and we can’t wait till she’s completely healed and back to her normal routine!
