Skuddles, a 6 year old neutered male Rat Terrier, first came to SLVS in the summer of 2012. Skuddles had just recently been diagnosed with diabetes and came in to the SLVS emergency clinic for vomiting and weakness. Skuddles had developed severe complications from his diabetes (ketoacidosis) as well as inflammation of his pancreas (pancreatitis). After aggressive care in the SLVS ICU, Skuddles was transferred to Dr. Medici’s care in Internal Medicine to try and gain better control of his diabetes. Getting Skuddles diabetes on track has been a long road with lots of adjustments and recheck visits. Fortunately, Skuddles has a wonderful and dedicated family who are very committed to making sure Skuddles is as healthy as possible. “Skuddles always had issues going to a vet’s office but with Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists he is always happy to see the internal medicine group,” said Skuddle’s mom.
We are happy to report that despite his ups and downs, Skuddles’ diabetes is currently well controlled and his mom couldn’t be happier. “Our Skuddle-Buddy loves Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists! Dr. Medici is his favorite doctor. The internal medicine group has always been very professional and provides excellent feedback/suggestions to continue to keep our Skuddles healthy and happy.”
