Technician lecture: Identify stressors for patients (dogs and cats) in the pre veterinary visit and veterinary visit time/s, how we can reduce these stressors for patients, and how to safely restrain patients in a way that reduces anxiety, stress, and a negative veterinary experience.

DVM lecture: Understanding & learning to calm the hysterical/angry client, keeping the team calm, preparation and establishing protocols, training and assigning specific staff roles. Also, what to say and HOW to say it when discussing:

Diagnostic Sampling of the Dermatology Patient-  Michael A. Rossi, DVM, MNS, DACVD

DVM lecture: This lecture focuses on the basic testing that is often done in-house for dermatology patients. Procedures covered include, but are not limited to: superficial cytology collection, ear cytology collection, deep and superficial skin scraping, skin biopsy procedure, and
dermatophyte culture. A focus will be placed on the doctor’s and technician’s roles in assisting with collection and interpretation of these samples.


CPCR Lecture (Technician)- Ashley Wetz, BAS, LVT and Samantha Hulbig, LVT

Focus on CPCR basics along the RECOVER guidelines including team roles, monitoring, techniques, and best practices for optimal patient resuscitation.

Focus on CPCR basics along the RECOVER guidelines including team roles, monitoring, techniques, and best practices for optimal patient resuscitation. 


CPCR Wet Lab (Technician and DVM)- Michael Villanueva, DVM and Ashley Wetz, BAS, LVT 

Hands on experience with CPCR utilizing Casper CPCR dummies, simulation of real-life patient situations, and applications of techniques learned during the lectures focused on CPCR.
