Originally from Angleton, Janet joined the SLVS team in 2011. She received her AAS degree in Animal Science from the Veterinary Technician Institute of Houston in 10/2010, and became an Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in 5/2011. During her short stint in general practice medicine, it became clear to her that her true calling was specialty medicine. At SLVS, she became an accomplished member of the Surgery and Internal Medicine Team, with that knowledge, she is now our Referral Coordinator. Her special interests include fishing, dancing, motorcycle riding, and checking off her bucket list. She says Schotzy, her Miniature Schnauzer, is her soul dog since adoption in 2012.
Billie who is originally from Texas is the middle child of 5 siblings. She attended school for medical assistant and worked shortly in the medical field, but soon realized that her true passion was working with animals. Billie comes to SLVS with over 10 years of veterinary field experience and joined our team in July of 2016. Billie has one fur baby, a teacup yorkie named Squintz. In her spare time, Billie enjoys cooking, working out, spending time with her husband and 5 kiddos, watching football (GO TEXANS), Basketball (Warriors), and Baseball (New York Yankees).
Originally from Baytown, Tanya earned her Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Technology, Paramedic II. She worked as a paramedic for several years, but then realized her true passion was working with animals in specialty veterinary medicine. With over 25 years of veterinary experience, she has worked as a technician in emergency, neurology, ICU, and internal medicine and has been with the SLVS family since 2010. In late 2014 she transferred from the technical side of veterinary medicine to become the SLVS Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, and then in 2018 joined the Client Care Specialist Team. She has 3 rescue dogs, Molly (Poodle/Schnauzer mix), Trooper (Chihuahua/Terrier Mix) and Daisy (Vizsla mix). She is also a mentor with the Houston Amputee Society and the American Amputee Society. In her free time she enjoys attending Sci-Fi & comic book conventions as an active member with the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion which are worldwide Star Wars costuming organizations that raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as well as various other charities.
