The board-certified surgeons at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists include Dr. Loretta Bubenik-Angapen and Dr. J. Matthew Sherwood. The Surgery section provides surgical services Monday through Friday as well as after-hours emergency surgery services.

Our surgeons are here to assist family veterinarians and pet owners by providing the highest quality surgical care and pain management in our state-of-the-art surgical facility. In order to provide quality care and offer the safest anesthetic experience, we utilize a dedicated, extensively trained anesthesia technician and OR technician/scrub assistant for every surgical procedure.

Following all surgical procedures at SLVS, patients are monitored in our 24-hour intensive care unit by our highly trained technical support staff. Our ICU is equipped to provide intensive management of patients who may require continuous ECG monitoring, oxygen therapy, constant rate infusions for pain management, vacuum assisted wound management, and much more.
