Dr. Rhue received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 2010. She then completed a one-year rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ. This was followed by a one-year emergency & critical care internship at Ohio State University. Dr. Rhue then went on to practice for two years as an emergency clinician at Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. It was then that Dr. Rhue decided to complete a three-year ECC residency at Auburn University in July 2017. Following her residency at Auburn, she returned to the Houston area before accepting a teaching position at the University of Queensland in Australia. Finally, Dr. Rhue joined the SLVS team in December of 2020.
Ashley is an army brat and was born in Hawaii. She moved throughout the US before settling in Houston. She did an internship program in high school and fell in love with veterinary medicine. Ashley graduated with her AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2010 from Vet Tech Institute and her BAS from Tarleton State University in 2016. She earned her VTS(ECC) in 2020. She has worked in both exotics and small animal practice, and she joined the SLVS team in December of 2010. Ashley has a special interest in Emergency and Critical Care and has been working as an emergency technician since 2008. Outside of work, she enjoying spending time with her family and pets.
