Dr. Bubenik graduated from the University of Florida with a Major in Microbiology and a Minor in Chemistry. She then graduated from University of Florida with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a rotating medicine and surgical internship at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bubenik then completed her Surgical Residency Training and obtained her Masters degree in Veterinary Medicine at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2001. Before coming to SLVS, she was part of the clinical staff at Louisiana State University.

Dr. Arrufat completed her undergraduate with honors and a double major in Zoology and Poultry Science. She applied and was accepted into North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Once she graduated from Veterinary School, she continued her post graduate training at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center where she completed 1 year of a small animal rotating internship, 1 year surgery specialty internship and a 3 year surgical residency.
