Veterinary Technician Specialist – Critical Care

Because of exponential growth, we are looking for a super star technician to join our Critical Care team to work directly alongside our board certified Criticalist!

This position requires extensive technical knowledge and skill, provide high quality care and client service, ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with a team, to meet the needs of the Critical Care section.

This candidate will possess a high level skill set (placement of central lines/long lines/nasogastric tubes/oxygen cannulas/art lines) and be able to monitor and care for patients on ventilator, nursing care for non recumbent patients, ability to communicate effectively with specialists and team. This position requires an individual who is flexible, can adapt to change quickly, and can work in a high stress environment.

VTS ECC preferred

5+ years working as a Veterinary Technician

3+ years in Emergency and Critical Care medicine

Veterinary Assistants at SLVS will mainly assist with routine pet care but will also have opportunities for growth working with some of the most experienced and knowledgeable specialty and emergency technicians in the industry.

Extensive use of computer software is required for this position, so basic computer literacy is a must.

Surgical Instrument and OR Technician

Our surgical practice is growing and we are looking for some AMAZING pack and scrub technicians to grow with us! The P&S team is the backbone of our surgical section. We couldn’t help the animals we help without them!

Our Pack & Scrub Team takes care of all the behind the scene instrumentation and OR room management. From ensuring all packs are sterile, pulled, and ready to go for our scheduled surgeries, turning around of instrumentation needed for later cases or emergencies, inventory management, and ensuring our ORs are cleaner than clean for all of our precious patients. This team services many teams that use the ORs from surgery, neurology, and emergency.

Our pack and scrub team thrives on working in an independent environment with a smaller core group of team members. We are currently in search of a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented pack and scrub technicians to support our surgical teams in our hospital. These techs should possess the skills necessary to provide quality maintenance and care to our ever-growing list of surgical instruments and OR suites.

Tech position requirements – Minimum of two years experience in a veterinary or surgical setting, working with and having a general knowledge of surgical equipment and sterilization processes.
