Dr. Garcia enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and working as a medical writer and editor. Despite the heat and mosquitos, she enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly in the Texas Hill Country whenever possible.
Kristina has known all of her life that she wanted to work in veterinary medicine. She got her introduction into the field as a kennel tech during her junior year of high school. Through the years she has worked as a technician and receptionist at local family veterinarian offices while attending WCJC to receive her AAS. She joined the SLVS team in 2013 as a Client Care Specialist. As she began to learn more about the diseases our Internal Medicine team faced, she quickly realized that was where her passion laid. Kristina joined the Internal Medicine team in late 2013. Not only does she enjoy continuously learning more about the specialty field, she also enjoys the relationships she continues to form with the pets and pet parents that come through the Internal Medicine service. In 2017 Kristina became the team lead for our Internal Medicine team and in 2019 accepted the role of manager to Internal Medicine and our Neurology team. She is excited to continue to grow her knowledge in specialized veterinary medicine.
